Dieselís deep dive

Despite public denouncements, diesel cars continue to comprise a huge part of Australiaís vehicle fleet. A recent Motor Vehicle Census by the Australian Bureau of Statistics revealed diesel powered vehicles now make up 22.2 percent of the national fleet, up from 15.9 percent at last census in 2012. The trend could well be on the turn, though. In the first six months of this year, diesel sales have collapsed by nearly 23 percent compared to last year, with hybrids being the most significant growth sector.
