i30 N ... disguised Downunder

The Hyundai i30 N hot hatch has been caught testing in Australia at least six months before it goes on sale as a rival to the Volkswagen Golf GTI. Based on the third-gen i30, codenamed PD, the top-secret development mule was snapped by a Wheels reader on a public road north of Sydney. The hot Hyundai will be offered in at least two guises, each with a 2.0-litre fourcylinder turbo-petrol with 184kW or 202kW. The front-drive i30N will use a six-speed manual and is tipped to score a new eight-speed dual-clutch automatic in 2019.
