MERCEDES - AMG GT

Mercedes-AMG has flagged its intention to build a 600kW, Porsche Panamera-bashing V8 hybrid super sedan by 2018 with its unveiling of the GT Concept.

FORD FIESTA ST

The 2017 Ford Fiesta ST will tap a tiny 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine that can pump out 147kW and 290Nm – but run as a two-cylinder fuel miser when it needs to. On sale in Australia from 2018.

AUDI RS5

Audi ditches the atmo V8 for a twin-turbo 2.9-litre V6 for the new-gen RS5. Same 331kW as the model it replaces, but now with 600Nm from 1900rpm (up 170Nm). 0-100km/h in 3.9 sec. In Oz by the end of ’17.
