… TOMORROW’S GT2

Despite three pedals being available on the GT3, Porsche’s forthcoming GT2 ‘widowmaker’ won’t be available with a manual option. Instead, part of its blistering speed will come courtesy of more closely stacked and even faster-shifting ratios in the seven-speed dual-clutch (PDK) transmission.

Speaking at the Geneva motorshow, Porsche boss Oliver Blume confirmed a 911 GT2 RS was around the corner – hard to deny, given it’s been repeatedly spied in testing (right) – but ruled out a manual.

The GT2 is expected to run a higher output version of the Turbo’s 3.8-litre twin-huffer six, delivering around 500kW to the rear wheels.

It’s due early next year, so time to save, and sharpen your oversteer skills.
