HOLDEN MOVES ON

I remember the excitement I felt as a 13-year-old when they launched the VB Commodore in 1978

IF THE VFII launch was anything to go by, Holden has moved on from Commodore and shifted its focus to being an importer. We all knew the time was coming, but I didnít expect the whimper that was the VFII launch. I still remember the excitement I felt as a 13-yearold when the VB Commodore launched in 1978; this recent one was more like a wake.

Gone are the days when a new Holden commanded extensive media coverage. Not this one.

Yes, the car landscape and industry in Australia has changed irrecoverably. I guess the overall lack of interest by both Holden and the media finally has me convinced, too.
