THE fastest Subarus on the market are now slightly safer with the introduction of some crashavoidance technologies to the WRX and STI Premium models.
Blind spot warning and auto high-beam headline the changes, while there’s now a camera in the passenger exterior mirror that gives better side vision when reversing – handy to avoid scuffing the 18-inch alloys.
The unchanged regular WRX is also unchanged on the price front, while the WRX Premium increases by $900 and the STi Premium by $400. Entry to the base STi has come down $500.
As for the Japanese brand’s EyeSight technology – which uses twin cameras to look for other vehicles and instigate auto braking – it’s not yet available on the WRX or STi.
