IN AN age of digital dashboards, you might think the crime of winding back a carís odometer would be well and truly over. Not so. The NSW government has fined a Lake Macquarie car yard after a Holden Commodore Executive grew 175,820 kilometres younger.
It turned out the time-travelling Commodore was one of 15 vehicles that had their odometers tampered with while passing through the Discount Car Centre car yard. The dealer was ordered to pay more than $47,000 in fines, costs and compensation.
