JLR soft on electric hype

JAGUAR Land Rover – the British luxury marque that once strapped a jet engine onto a battery-fuelled supercar (the C-X75 concept, pictured left) – says it believes the world is not yet ready for battery-powered vehicles. Speaking at the Automotive News Europe Congress, JLR chief executive Ralf Speth said the brand’s customers remained “not impressed” with the technology. Despite this, the brand is still pushing ahead with Project Evoque E, building a prototype battery-powered version of its compact SUV.
