New Grand Cherokee delayed

THE next Jeep Grand Cherokee won’t launch until as late as 2019. The two-year delay, confirmed by Jeep president and CEO Mike Manley, has also been cited by FCA boss Sergio Marchionne, who reportedly claimed the Grand Cherokee’s underpinnings need a thorough reexamination before the next-gen debuts.

Part of this may be due to the fact it will share its platform with a larger, plusher SUV called Grand Wagoneer, a new flagship intended to rival the Range Rover.
