Alfa engines to power renaissance

ALFA Romeo’s push to sell 400,000 cars by 2018 – a four-fold increase – has started with the annoucement of two new engines. The “advanced, high-output four-cylinder” and “Ferrari-derived six-cylinder”, both specifically developed for the FCA-owned Italian marque, will go into production later this year at the group’s Termoli plant in southern Italy. Both are set to surface in a new D-segment sedan – possibly called Giulia – due to be shown on June 24. It’s one of eight all-new Alfa Romeo models set for launch by 2018.
