Ford to move from Broadmeadows

FORD is to move its Australian head office from Broadmeadows to Richmond, close to the city. The “reconfiguration” of the Broadmeadows site, which Ford has used as its corporate headquarters since moving there from Geelong in 1961, will relocate 200 of the carmaker’s “employees, contractors and other support staff from the marketing, sales and service team” to the new location by the middle of this year. The move will happen a year and a half before Ford is scheduled to switch off more than 50 years of Australian manufacturing in October next year and become a full-line importer.
