Ipurchased my Kurrajong Green XP Falcon utility from Eclipse Motors in Franklin Street, Adelaide on 29 November 1965. I was 17 years old and it had done 13 miles when salesman Frank Bowen handed me the keys.

Nicknamed it ĎNellieí, and I courted my wife Heather in the utility, ticking over 100,000 miles on our wedding day! We drove it to Alice Springs for our honeymoon, but itís been a work vehicle its whole life; from 1965 right through to 19 March 2005, when I retired it to a farm shed for ten years.

Someone told us that the 2015 Birdwood Classic was to feature 50 years of the XP Falcon, so we thought we should do it up. I had the body fixed by Wadeís Automotive Refinishing and rebuilt the motor myself, but Nellie is generally very original; the interior hasnít been touched.

Both our children learned to drive in it, helping us feed the sheep on the farm and the like. My son has expressed interest in retaining the car in the family, Iím glad as itís very precious; Iíve had it my whole life.

Young people just canít believe weíve owned the car so long!

1985 SHANE COULSONíS NISSAN H252 PRESIDENT SOVEREIGN VIP NIPPON NOBILITY CONVEYANCE

Iíve never owned a car thatís not a Nissan; I started with an N12 Pulsar ET Turbo that I worked up into a 13-second car!

When I met Fred and Christine Gibson at a show, everyone was asking about their experiences in the Skylines and all I asked about was their Group C Exas!

That being said, I also have an R31 Skyline track car; it makes 402kw at the wheels from an RB30 turbo; owning a dyno shop makes it very handy to tune these things!

I bought the President off Gumtree in 2011 from some Russian guy; it was his mumís car.

Iíve got no clues how it got to Australia; it wasnít a consulate car as they were all black or silver.

When I got it, there were loads of electrical gremlins; itís handy Iíve also been a computer systems engineer! For example, it has eight power window switches; even the front and rear quarters are electric.

Itís got tape decks front and rear; if they are both playing, you hear both tapes at the same time! The rear also has an in-built Dictaphone. Itís just a lazy cruiser and itís a bit tired, but I love the craziness.
