The Beta Montecarlo was sold in the US during 1976 and 1977 as the Scorpion. A smaller 81hp 1756cc engine was fitted along with ugly bumpers and some gawky one-piece headlamps.
Lancia won the World Championship of Makes in 1980 with the Montecarlo Turbo. Sharing the centre section with the road car, the Turbo developed up to 490hp in full race trim.
