Right you lot, it’s about time you ’fessed up to what you’re doing in the shed late at night – within reason that is. We’re looking for all sorts of projects, be they a humble and straightforward rebuild of the family transport of delight, through to a high-tech refresh of Uncle Roy’s track weapon.
So what’s required? Use your camera – lots.
You don’t need to be a professional photographer, as a collection of well-lit and in-focus happy snaps, taken at regular intervals will do the job just fine. We might add some photography of our own of the final product – that will depend on how accessible you and the project are.
Take shots of the components as you buy them, and the vehicle in various stages from start to finish. Yes, some of the shots may look hideous, but that’s the nature of workshop stories. Some nice clean shots of the final product would be damned useful.
Even a few snaps of the folk who worked on the car would be handy.
The good news is you don’t have to write the feature, unless you can and want to. We’ll happily assign a journo to the job to help you tell the story. The end result is a great feature in a national magazine – something to be proud of.
So, what’s the next step? Drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll work out the rest.
