Korea’s making a move in the automotive industry. Sure, its companies have long been building pizza-delivery cars and P-Plater specials. But Kia’s Stinger GT and Hyundai’s N Division signal their adolescence is coming to an end. They want to be taken seriously.

They’ll be aiming to take some big scalps, Kia’s Stinger GT might arrive in time to catch the Commodore for a quick chat outside and we know Hyundai’s i30 N will have a crack at Volkswagen and its ever-green Golf GTI. I’ll be watching closely to see how the first comparisons turn out. I was sceptical about Korean performance cars, but now I’m excited about what the future holds!
