MCLAREN’S revealed the price of its Ferrari-fighting 720S, which arrives here in the third quarter of this year.
The 720S will land with 530kW and 770Nm, a 2.9sec claimed sprint to 100km/h and a 341km/h top speed.
They’re more impressive stats than its Maranello rival, but you’ll have to pay for them. It kicks off at $489,900 for the base 720S, putting it $20K above a 488 GTB, and if you tick the box for a Luxury or Performance variant that figure swells to $515,080.
The base price also sees it cost $25K more than the 650S it replaces.
As for the variants, the Luxury 720S swaps in a ‘tungsten slate’ exterior trim, silver window surrounds, ambient engine lighting, and leather-wrapped, electrically-adjustable heated seats.
The Performance variant adds more carbon fibre to the interior/ exterior mix and ditches the electric/ heated seat function. Carbon racing seats are optional.
