Blue runs strong in my veins. Growing up in the ’60s and ’70s, Bathurst was the annual highlight and Allan Moffat was THE man!

The legendary GT-HO, especially the Phase III, set the tone, followed by the underdog victory with Gossy in ’74 and then the famous one-two in ’77, the fabulous Dick Johnson-era (which included three laps around Lakeside with him in the ’84 Greenstuf machine) was the stuff of legend.

On a personal note, I’ve owned an XB GT Coupe, a series of XEs and then a number of B series cars –both XR6 and XR8. My current ride is a Herrod Performance-enhanced XR8, which epitomises the whole Falcon story – muscle for the man in the street to enjoy. It may no longer be manufactured here, but the legend will live on forever.
