I’m reading your magazine in the US and have noticed that cars prices in Australia seem fairly high. In some cases they are crazy. What is this attributed to? I’d expect part of it is due to currency.
There are a number of factors at play here, Shaun. One is currency, but the bigger factors are tax, including import and the controversial luxury car tax, as well as transport costs as we’re a long way away.
Australian cars, particularly premium models, also tend to have a very high standard specification.
