WHAT’S MOTOR doing in a long-wheelbase 7 Series? In fairness, it does have a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 with 330kW and 650Nm, and shifts to 100km/h in 4.7sec – worth remembering next time you see a chauffeur in one at the lights. It could be us, too – while the LWB adds 140mm and 45kg, benefitting, obviously, the spoilt rear passengers, it’s quite nice to drive. Tickled properly the V8 makes a sweet noise, it has heaps of grunt, and it rides like it’s on a cloud.
