MERCEDES-AMG has locked crosshairs on Audi’s S6 with the reveal of its new E43 Estate.
Joining a range of ‘AMG-lite’ vehicles taking up arms against Audi’s S brand and BMW’s M Performance, the E43 Estate promises pooch-scaring grunt and couch-carrying capacity.
With a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 loaded in its nose, the estate makes 295kW/520Nm. Harnessed by allwheel drive and Merc’s nine-speed auto, it’ll also hit 100km/h in 4.7sec.
Adaptive suspension and 19-inch wheels are at the core of its dynamic package, while low wheel offsets and badge-less guards keep its sleeper cred intact.
One thing less subtle is its chockers equipment list, sporting a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, auto LEDs, and auto-drive tech.
Merc plans to land the car and its sedan counterpart here early in 2017, with pricing currently unconfirmed.
